Over the years we have had the pleasure of guiding thousands of pilgrims along the Halls of our Temples. Walking with them is a constant reminder of how much more we can discover in the Temples! Every wall, every color, every symbol take on new meanings as they are perceived through the eyes and the hearts of our guests from all over the world. To share their insights, we regularly post some of their comments. We hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we do.

This time the Temples are told by Julie Piatt

Julie Piatt — who also uses the spiritual name of Srimati — is a spiritual guide, a healer, a vegan chef, a best selling author, and a star podcaster. Srimati is also singer-songwriter with a spiritual and healing focus, and a story behind her songs.

She was an untaught musician when in the middle of a spiritual crisis, she sat down at a harmonium and sang a complete song she didn’t know as it flowed through her. She was experiencing what other songwriters have described as song channeling in its purest form. Years later, still untaught, she continues to channel songs reflecting her spiritual path, her life’s joys, and its struggles, creating a music that is accessible in its simplicity, and powerful in its universal themes of meditation, resolving inner questions, and seeking a peaceful center.

Julie has spent decades seeking the divine in all of her life experiences. Through embracing a plant based diet, and simultaneously embarking on a deep meditation practice, she healed herself of a large cyst in her neck, which doctors had diagnosed as an incurable ailment. This experience made her connection with food very special, and proved to her the miraculous ability of the body to heal itself when supported with pure whole living foods and a connection to the soul. She has now created a new, beautiful plant-based food product, as a testimony to her devotion to Life and its gifts.

Julie has been visiting and leading retreats in Damanhur and its Temples since 2008. In this video, she says that she has been transformed by the artistry of the Temples, their creativity and their deep spiritual meaning:

“The Temples are an expression of immense beauty.”
